Week 20 - Small Cantaloupe Lightcap

It's week 20, the half way point! Baby lightcap sure is doing some flipturns in my belly, maybe he will be a swimmer like me. Hes the size of a cantaloupe, but given the ultrasound we had today the tech said he's measuring a full week ahead so hes a bigger than normal. On the ultrasound he was moving his mouth... maybe he's singing some of the tunes I've been playing for him with the belly buds. It was cute :) At the appointment his head was facing down and feet up, vertical. The ultrasound was a full anatomy check/measurement and everything came out great. We can't wait to meet him in May of next year. It feels so far away but also so close.
My big boy has been causing me back pain already though. I am going to get back in the pool next week, so hopefully that will help build some muscle and relieve pain. It could just be the stress of the holidays causing the pain, too much on my feet. Chris and I are looking forward to our relaxing weekend of doing nothing. We are going to do some fondue and sparkling apple cider for nye.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody! The Lightcap's were quite busy this holiday season. We spent the weekend before Christmas up in Orlando with the Robertson Fam and had a blast. We got my Dad a new remote control helicopter, so we had some fun playing around with that. My parents got us this cute patriots onsie with booties and also an eagles onsie with booties, and stuffed jungle animal puppets that are super cute. Steve and Melissa got baby lightcap a onsie that says "Don't wake me, I drank too much last night" haha.

On Thursday we headed up to Philly to spend the week with the Lightcap Fam. On Friday night we spent the night up in Stroudsburg at Lyndsey's for a Kerry/Lyndsey double baby bash party with some friends, and had a great time. It was so nice to catch up with friends and get everybody together. On xmas eve we got to spent some time with Grandma and Aunt Marie and went to mass at their church. Then, on xmas we headed up to Aunt Linda and Uncle Bob's house for a dinner. We got lots of nice gifts from the whole family, and got a lot of baby eagles stuff (now I need some more patriots stuff to counteract that, but I know that will happen with time), a eagles pillow pet from his Mom and Dad and some cute eagles onsies and bibs from Dave and his Aunt and Uncle. The eagles onsie from Dave was pretty funny "I may still slobber but I'm smart enough to know that the cowboys really do suck" hahah.

We got back in to Fort Lauderdale pretty late, at 2am, so we are looking forward to making it through the work week, then having a nice relaxing New Years weekend. We start the nursery prep in January! We have to sell the furniture and then Chris is going to put up a chair rail in the room and paint.

MORE PICS TO COME!

Rockin' Out with Belly Buds

Thanks to Uncle Steve and Aunt Melissa, Baby Lightcap gets to listen to some tunes in utero. I need to download some classical Mozart, Bach and that stuff on my ipod, but for now he's rockin' out to some Jack Johnson singalong and lullabies, Tim Mcgraw, Dido and some other random relaxing mixes.

He's growing....

NFL Exposure

Baby Lightcap went to his second NFL game today, Eagles vs Dolphins. Well, it was the first game that he could hear, since the Pats vs Dolphins game was during week 5 of pregnancy. Chris is always a trooper and wears a Patriot’s shirt to the Patriots vs Dolphins game we go to every year, so I had to wear the Eagles shirt to this game.

Note…By no means take the below picture as me being an Eagles fan, or Chris being a Pat’s fan.

We are cordial to each other’s teams… and the good thing is, most of the time, we can cheer for each other’s teams, because we are in different conferences. But, nothing will ever change our favorite team, and when the Eagles and Pats play you most likely wouldn’t find us watching the game in the same location. At the game, we saw this little kid that had an eagles jersey and dolphins jersey cut in half and sewn together, it was so cute.. That will probably be are kid, but torn between the Eagles and the Pats. At least we are united being Lehigh and University of Florida fans :)

Turnip Time.. Week 17

Baby is now the size of a turnip or onion, about 5 ounces and 5 inches long. He can now move his joints and the soft cartilage is now changing to bone. I would like to say my pregnancy is getting better, because i'm not as naseous, but I ended up in the hospital last weekend with an Asthma attack. I guess pregnancy has caused my allergies and asthma to be worse than normal. All is ok now and I hope that I dont have any more asmtha episodes.
I spent the last weekend up in the northeast for Lyndsey's baby shower. I flew into Newark and we drove into NYC for one night so we could walk around and see the big tree. The next day we headed back to the Poconos. Her shower was on Sunday and was awesome! her Mom did such an amazing job with decorations and it was a great time. Her nursery is all set up and looks great.
Chris and I have so much work to do on our nursery. We have always wanted to do the monkey theme, but we found a great jungle theme that I think we are going to stick with, it has monkeys, bears, elephants, hippos, etc. its called Jungle Play.
Also, we have picked a name!!! but it is top secret till the birth, so no guessing allowed :)
