11 Week Ultrasound

Everything came back perfect on the ultrasound today! The NT (test for down) they measure a certain distance on the back of the neck and it needs to be under 3mm and Baby Lightcap is 0.8-0.9mm, which is great. He/She is measuring 2 days ahead at 4.97cm (~2"). The heartbeat is similar to Monday, at 166 BPM. I started to tell people at work today which has made it such a fun Friday. I am so excited!!

Still very little, but during the ultrasound I saw baby kick!
This one, you can see baby's arm up by the head

Week 11 Lime Baby

We had an appointment with the doctor and all is well. Baby is about 2" long, about the size of a lime. We were able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, 165 BPM, so exciting!! Chris recorded it..

Starting to feel a little better, which is good, because Chris and I are going to be flying to Austin for the weekend to see Gavin. I was a bit worried about throwing up in the plane but my doc gave me Zofran, which should help. Fingers crossed the flight isnt miserable. Also, I hope when I get to Austin I can enjoy some of the good bbq! I am starting to feel like I can eat again and maybe food isn't so evil.

Barf = Good

Constantly feeling sick is no fun...looking forward to the weeks of feeling my normal hungry self. But in the mean time, I was reading some good news... from a Dr's website...
"Feeling Naseated??..... If so, Relax! Studies have shown that the high levels of pregnancy hormones that contribute to nausea also suggest a well-implanted embryo. In fact, the more nausea a mother has, teh more likely she is to deliver a healthy baby (many moms go through the nine months without any nausea and have healthy and happy babies too)"
At least thats something to feel good about!
Plus my brother told me that the more sick you are (more symptoms you have) the easier the delivery, so another thing to look forward too :)

Week #9... The Grape

Not much change over here. I had about 3 continual days of barfing which was no fun and I still don't feel much better. And, that just happened to be when Chris' parents were in town, so that made it extra no fun. But, with Chris' Mom not feeling too well either we both spend a lot of time relaxing and drinking our ginger ale. We played a game of scrabble and used up every single tile in the bag! I've played a lot of scrabble in my day and never seen that happen. Chris and his dad were having an intense came of Chess with which Chris took home the victory, but I am sure they will have rematch soon. We took a trip to the baby store. Things have changes so much since my Mom and Chris' Mom had their kids they were both amazed at how many options there are now and the inflation. But, I especially like the many more options they that make life easier, like a remote control mobile and an electric swing so you dont have to go wind it up every ten minutes, as just some examples.
I am super sensitive to smells which can get in the way sometimes, especially since people at work don't know I am pregnant. Three people were in the kitchen at work all heating up three different kinds of leftovers and I made the mistake of going in there to get my apple sauce out of the fridge. They then tried to strike up a convo with me.. torture.. I had to pretend I was running to a meeting. I havent been eating much, but the only cuisine I have an affinity for seems to be mexican, guess the baby is going to like his/her mexican food.
And as far as other symptoms go...this morning, I was listening to this country song about life it made me teary eyed, darn hormones.. Jessica Andrews, "Who I Am" lyrics.. what a tear jerker

Grandma and Grandpa Lightcap

We finally told Chris parents tonight! Chris' Mom's reaction was priceless! They are just so excited. We gave Chris mom the "grandma gives the best hugs" bib. We got Chris' grandmom and brother on the phone to share with them the news that they are now Great Grandmom and Uncle. They are so happy and Grandma was very emotional to hear the awesome news. We can't wait to see her in person and give her a big hug too.

Week #8.. The Raspberry

The baby is 1/2 inch long, about the size of a rasberry.... a raspberry that is causing me a continual naseous feeling. It has been going on for the past couple weeks and I sure hope it stops soon. This whole "morning" sickness thing is such a mislabel, it's more like 24/7 sickness. I haven't been eating much, but forcing my self to eat so I dont starve the raspberry.
Here is a quick belly shot.. well not really a belly yet, just my normal pudge :-p

We cleaned out the raspberry's room closet. So, its empty now, but the office closet is full. I wanted to get a head start because there were a lot of boxes that needed time to sort and throw away stuff. We moved most of the stuff we had from there, to the office and the other guest room. The office closet was in need of shelving because it was out of control. We got this awesome deal for new wood closet shelving from Lowe's at about 75% off. Chris put it up and we got everything stacked in there. I wish I had a "before" picture, but I can share the "after" picture. With all the crap in the picture, you can probably imagine was it looked like without the shelving, haha.

Chris parents come in this Wednesday, we are so excited to share the news!!
