Happy Birthday Ryan William!

Ryan William was born on April 29th, 2012 and weighed 7 lb 12 oz, 18.5" long

Ryan's Birth Story:
He came two weeks early due to me being diagnosed with preclampsia. My blood pressure had been running high for about a week and when I went to my doctor's appointment on Friday the 27th there was protien in my urine, I had a headache, swelling (pitting edema) and high blood pressure which are all tell tale signs for preclampsia when you pair it with the protien in urine. So, the doctor sent me to Labor and Delivery. They monitored me there for a little bit and then sent me home on bed rest to return the next day. When we returned on Saturday nothing was really improving so my Doctor didnt want to risk it and decided to induce. I was 2cm and 80% at that time so I think little Ryan was going to be ready any day anyway. They put me on cervidil (cervix softener) for 12 hours and I was getting a lot of contractions. But, when they took the cervidil out I was still 2 cm and 80%. It was now 10am on Sunday and they decided to break my water, which is were the real fun began. I progressed so fast I barely was put on petocin (only for 30 min at most). I got the epidural at 11:45. I went from 2cm to 10cm in 2.5 hours (10:30am to 1:00pm) and it was time to push. Push time took about an hour and half and our bundle of joy joined us at 2:32pm at a healthy 7lb 12oz.

Welcome Ryan William Lightcap!!
